Option 1:Â FIRST CHRISTMAS
Â
Ho, ho, ho! Merry First Christmas, little one.
There is something especially magical about a first Christmas.
You may be too little to remember the twinkling lights, the sound of familiar Christmas songs or the people gathered around you this year. But I promise you, your family will remember.
Theyâll remember holding you close beneath the glow of the Christmas tree. Theyâll remember the little thingsâthe way you looked at the lights, the clothes you wore, the photographs they took and the feeling of having you there for the very first time.
Because this Christmas, something has changed.
You are now part of your familyâs Christmas story.
There may be traditions that have been loved for generations, passed gently from one Christmas to the next, that can now be shared with you. There will be others that begin because you are hereâlittle things your family does this year that, without anyone quite realising it, may become the things you look forward to every December.
As the years pass, Christmas will grow with you.
One day, youâll be big enough to hang decorations on the tree yourself. Youâll have favourite Christmas songs and stories, foods you hope appear on the table every year, and perhaps a special place you always visit or something your family simply has to do before Christmas feels complete.
Youâll hear the same stories told again and again. Youâll laugh at familiar jokes. Youâll help choose presents for the people you love and discover just how wonderful it feels to give something youâve chosen especially for someone else.
Some traditions will remain exactly the same.
Others will change as you do.
And some of the smallest moments may become the ones you treasure most.
Thatâs the wonderful thing about Christmas traditions. They arenât made magical because theyâre grand or perfect. Theyâre magical because they belong to your family.
This year is only the beginning.
There are Christmas mornings ahead of you filled with excitement, Christmas Eves when youâll wonder if youâll ever manage to fall asleep, trees yet to be decorated, presents yet to be wrapped, stories yet to be told and so many memories waiting to be made.
But there will only ever be one very first Christmas.
So while you may not remember this Christmas yourself, know that you spent it surrounded by people who love you, beginning a lifetime of traditions and memories together.
And perhaps, many Christmases from now, someone who loves you will bring out this very letter and tell you about the Christmas when it all began.
Merry First Christmas, [Childâs Name].
May your Christmases always be filled with warmth, laughter, a little magic and, most importantly, people you love.
With all my love and Christmas cheer,
Santa Claus
Option 2: Santaâs Coming to Town
Â
Ho, ho, ho! Merry Christmas!
While you were tucked up asleep last night, something rather magical was happening overhead. My reindeer and I were soaring beneath the stars, the sleigh piled high with presents and the sound of bells following us through the night.
And, of course, one of our stops was [Where Child Will Be Celebrating Christmas].
I hope youâre waking to a Christmas morning filled with excitement, [Childâs Name]. Before I continued on my journey, I wanted to leave a special letter behind just for you.
What a year youâve had!
Iâve heard all about [insert Some things Santa could see]. It sounds as though youâve had some wonderful adventures and made plenty of memories along the way.
Something else that brought me a great deal of joy was hearing about [insert Things Santa would be proud of/would bring Santa joy]. I hope when you look back on your year, you feel proud of the things youâve learned, experienced and achieved, and excited for all the adventures still ahead of you.
Weâve made plenty of memories at the North Pole this year too!
The elves finally announced their Toy of the Year after plenty of discussion, the reindeer enjoyed a well-earned Reindeer Spa Day, and Mrs Claus kept everyone fed with her delicious Vanilla Snow Cups. Bernard assured me the workshop was running perfectly to schedule⌠although between you and me, I think there may have been a few last-minute parcels!
But before the excitement of Christmas Eve began, we gathered for one of our most treasured traditionsâthe North Pole Lantern Festival.
As twilight fell, elves, reindeer and friends carried glowing lanterns through the village. Each light represented a wish, a treasured memory or something to be grateful for. For a little while, everyone stopped working, looked up and watched hundreds of lanterns glow beneath the winter sky.
Christmas can be wonderfully exciting, but I think those quieter moments are part of its magic too.
And now, Christmas morning has arrived for you.
Today, youâll celebrate with your family, enjoying the traditions that make Christmas feel special. Some may have been part of your family for many years, while others might only just be beginning. Over time theyâll grow and change with you, carrying memories from one Christmas to the next.
So enjoy the presents, the delicious food and all the excitement of Christmas morningâbut donât forget to enjoy the little things too. The familiar traditions. The laughter. The stories youâll tell again next year. And simply being together.
Those are the things that make Christmas something worth remembering.
My journey may be over for another year, but your Christmas Day is only just beginning.
Have a wonderfully merry Christmas, [Childâs Name]. I hope itâs filled with love, laughter and plenty of magic.
Until next year,
âŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚ.
